What
Take some time to celebrate the official launch of your freelancing career.
Why
It’s important to celebrate milestones, large and small, as you progress through your freelancing journey.
When you’re self-employed, no-one knows what progress you’re making in your business, and charting the little wins and significant moments is important, so you’re able to look back and see how far you’ve come.
The small steps add up into something much larger - and this is certainly a significant moment!
How
1/ Grab a notebook or create a new digital file, and take 15 minutes to capture the progress steps you’ve made so far. Keep this file somewhere, so we can keep track of progress in the future.
2/ Add a recurring event to your calendar, so we can celebrate this moment each year - it’s your own “Independence Day” (or we like to call it “Independents Day”).
3/ If you haven’t already, use this as another excuse to communicate with your network, family and friends - that you’re officially available as a freelancer now.
4/ Treat yourself - a cake, a coffee, a balloon, a book, anything you like to mark this moment. We’d love to see your celebration. Post an image on social media, and tag it #MyIndependenceDay
5/ Tell us where we can find your new business, we love to celebrate and shout out about new freelancers. Register your business profile.
